Position: CEO, ZeekRewards
Crime: Right-hand woman and co-conspirator in the Lexington Ponzi scheme alongside Paul Burks, Dawn Wright Olivares represented to investors that they could participate in the Retail Profit Pool (RPP), which supposedly allowed victims to collectively share 50% of Zeek’s daily net profits. She orchestrated “Red Carpet Events” where investors came to hear details of the scheme in person. During these events, Burks and Wright-Olivares made false representations about the massive retail profits generated by Zeek. They deployed electronic and print media, including websites, emails and journals, promoting falsehoods about the success of Zeekler to recruit victims.
Charges/Sentencing: Dawn Wright-Olivares was sentenced to seven and one-half years in federal prison, imposed by the U.S. District Judge Max O. Cogburn Jr. of the Western District of North Carolina.
Update: By 2017, $362 million had been recovered.
